SERVICES · PUBLIC INSTALLATIONS

Public art installations is the newest chapter at Andrea Hegedűs Design. Our founder’s latest artistic collaboration with the Budapest based fine artist, Zsolt Koroknai, was revealed to the public in August 2014.

The illuminating glass textile cube installation – located very close to the popular Central Market Hall at Csarnok tér, in the 9th district of the Hungarian Capital – fits very well into its environment as it combines the aesthetically pleasing atmosphere and interesting geometry of the public square with the youthful energy of the two nearby universities as well as with the natural colors of the huge fruit and vegetable selection at the Budapest Central Market Hall.

The blue, green, yellow, orange and deep pink colors of the glass textile cube are well visible during the day, and after dawn the built-in solar cells light up the installation automatically. The symbolic character of the glass textile is emphasized by the transposed spatial connection between the city and nature. With the help of modern technology the cube plays a pleasant, colorful role in the newly transformed public square – by day and night.

In the future Andrea Hegedűs plans to further experiment with glass textile including opportunities arising in the field of artistic installations in public spaces.
